Ah-yeah!! Big Sky County, is there anything like it?!! I was born in Wyoming, jumping boarders at age 19. I have lived in Montana since. My two daughters, Andie and Jen were born and raised here in Montana. I tried my best to raise them with a fishing pole in one hand and a gun in the other! As our ancestors, we're avid hunters and fisherpeople!! Our main hobbies other than that, are collecting knives and artifacts; human's earliest knife. Andie at age four got a real close look at a comboedge kitchen knife, her hand slipping down the shank of the handle onto the blade as she just had to carve her own pumpkin. A quick trip to the hospital and many stitches later the Lee Family was off and running in "THE WORLD OF KNIVES!" Later that same year dissecting fish and worms were a biggie for both of them!
We've talked of doing our thing on the internet for years. As we collected our own knives, but only got it off the ground as of 11-11-06. There is just something about having your own personal knife to hold, look at, and show off. One of my favorites is a large Remington, three bladed, stockman pocket knife my father gave me when I was fifteen that his father gave him back in the early forties. Years ago it was valued at around $2,300.00. My second favorite would have to be from a very close personal friend of mine, Dennis Friedly from Cody, Wyoming. He's been making mostly hunting knives now for a living over 30 years. Dennis is known around the world! He was on the cover of the "Blade Magazine" in the past and most recently the 2007, April issue of "Knife Magazine," with articles inside both about his work shop and life style! He basically let me steal this fixed blade hunter from him for the price of the materials only! I've made a few knives over the years, but none ever even close to his! Need a good custom made knife, give Dennis a call at 307-527-6811.
So this is where it all kind of began, and look where it lead us to today; pages full of knives on the internet. We do hope you find something of interest while you browse though our store and purchase it from us. Whether it be for your own personal collection, for a gift , or just one to bag around with in your pocket or purse for those special needs. Even though we endeavor to provide a knife to fit your needs, sometimes we may fall short. Should that be the case, we do hope you'll flag or book mark us for that later knife need. Or better yet, Email us at sales@jimboleeknives.com let us know what it is you need, as we are growing every day; we'll do our level best to fill your wishes!!
Thanks! Come back again!
Sincerely,
Jim, Andie, and Jen
